AN ORDINARY DAY MEETS A DIVINE INTERRUPTION – Part 4

A day in the life of David

LUNCH TIME!

This story is about young David when he was asked by his father, as done many times before, to go and run errand to deliver lunch to his brothers. David has always been obedient and honorable young man and when his father asks him to go run an errand he complied without complaining. I believe that the greater things we will do in life begin with the small things, even when it comes to doing ordinary tasks.

Answering a simple request may lead to a divine run in with your destiny. Why, you may be thinking? Because there is nothing ordinary with God. He always has a greater purpose in mind for you every day. If we make ourselves available we can be used as a vibrant paint color on his canvas and be an important component for the bigger picture. In David’s case, he answered the call and came face to face with a moment of destiny.

This ordinary day that was only suppose to be a lunch delivery to his brothers, became a day that God use him to deliver Israel from their enemy. Instinctively, young David met this divine appointment without hesitation. He knew it was his moment to be used by the Lord and he took on this giant obstacle without even some much a flinch. When you walk close with the Lord, fear has no place inside of you. Every fiber of your being becomes sensitive to the voice and the purpose of God for that moment. There is no fore thought or time to reconsider your decision. Instantly you become battle ready in your spirit when you arise in obedience to call of God.

THOUGHTS TO CONSIDER

Ponder on these questions for a moment. What if today is the day that God changes your life once and for all? What if today becomes the starting point to your purpose? You see, God doesn’t always tell what his plan is during breakfast. Usually His purpose is revealed to us moment by moment as we go about our day. Sometimes His word or directive can come via a simple request from someone?

The Lord will mostly use people to connect us to His plan. Therefore, it is important that we have an attitude of awareness today because the Lord just might use someone to lead us on a particular path. I pray that your spirit will be sensitive to hear His voice, even if it whispers through the simple and mundane things of life. Respond to it! I will say it like this. Don’t ignore the small stuff!

In conclusion, I invite you to approach today with a readiness to answer any call; even if it is a little inconvenient. Remember that God calls us to be ready in season and out of season. When you respond to what the Lord puts in your path that obedience becomes a key that unlocks the door to the unknown and reveals the secrets of God. Be brave, take heart, and be an open vessel to be used of God because someone’s deliverance may depend on it.

There is always that person who is praying to God that you would be obedient to His leading. Let your actions today cry out with a loud voice that says, “His is purpose is greater that your personal pursuits”! Do what is asked of you, be ready, and watchful because a divine interruption awaits you.
