DURING THIS PANDEMIC WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?

I believe that every GENERATION in every DISPENSATION, had to think about and respond to, the greatest question ever asked.

In Matthew 16v13-19 we find that question.

Now this question was not posed by any ordinary person but by the greatest person to ever walk the earth. It was asked by Jesus Christ.

At this point in time of this scripture passage, Jesus and the disciples were traveling through the dusty roads of Israel ( the region of Caesarea Philippi).

This should have been around the midpoint of Jesus’ ministry, so by then, the disciples should have gained some knowledge and experience in understanding the Lord’s purposes.

As they traversed on their journey Jesus suddenly asked the greatest question ever asked his disciples.

“Who do people say that I am?”

In response, his disciples rattled off some things they had heard people say about Jesus through out their journeys.

DISCIPLE: “I heard one guy call you John the Baptist!”

DISCIPLE 2: “Yea? Well I heard a guy call Him Elijah!!”

DISCIPLE 3: “Others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.”

… but then Jesus drops a much more pointed question to them:

“Who do YOU say that I am?”

Right away, Peter shoots back with confidence and says,

“Jesus, you are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!”

After this, Jesus praises Peter for providing this answer and He tells Peter that it was God Himself who revealed this truth to him.

Today, the Lord’s revelation it’s no different. His voice still speaks louder than ever!

But the question is:

ARE WE LISTENING?

In this unprecedented pandemic and isolation experience that we are in, God is posing this same question to not only believers but nonbelievers too.

WHO DO YOU SAY I AM ?

In your experience during this crisis, who do you say GOD IS ? Have your thoughts of Jesus diminished or increased during this unexpected trial?

Is He still the Lord you want to serve or have you given up on THE GOD OF DELIVERANCE and given in to the god of despair?

Has COVID -19 made you forget of the Lord of John 3:16?

I truly hope not! Please don’t let this virus change your perspective of who God is. Things may seem out of control but I must remind you that the Lord is still divinely in control and has a plan to bring us out of the wilderness and into a land of promise.

My prayer for everyone today is that in the midst of this struggle and increasing physical, financial, and spiritual needs, your spirit could still say that he is the Lord of HOPE, HEALING, AND PROVISION in your life. May your voice shout that nothing can shake your faith in Jesus. May you cry out that there is no virus, no pandemic, isolation, or loss of any kind that can separate you from the Lord of your salvation. Profess that your love will not be lost, your sanity will not be shaken, and your faith will not fumble.

Be persuaded that nothing can stop His purposes from being fulfilled in your life. Let your proclamation of trust and faith be heard throughout the gates of hell. If you have lost strength or hope, speak to your spirit and say “Spring up O’heart and praise the Lord of my deliverance!” Confess with all your breath that despite the hardship, you and your house will serve the Lord, now and forevermore. May these terrible pandemic days be met with a divine interruption of the power of our awesome God. Let’s believe that for a new day to begin and intersect with God’s mighty hand of blessings.

Thanks for visiting.
