POSITIONING YOUR PURPOSE THROUGH THANKFULNESS

Today, I want to share one of the many components that I have added into a study that I have created called Divine Positioning. There are many components I’ve learned from the Lord, as He positions us towards his purpose.

This component is number 33 and it’s titled:

The Positioning Of Your Purpose Must Include Thankfulness.

When when we contemplate on how the Lord positions us in life for success and his purposes, it’s vital that we remain thankful throughout the journey; even through a wilderness experience.

When we read about the accounts of the children of Israel in the wilderness, many things we can learn from that story that can help us develop a heart of thanksgiving.

THANKFULNESS CANCELS BITTERNESS EVERYTIME!

Many died in the wilderness during those forty years of traversing through a dry place and only a few from the old generation made it into the land of promise. God allows things to happen for a reason. I believe that part of that reason is that we cannot take the behaviors of the old generation into the promised land.

The new generation must develop their own heart and experiences of Thanksgiving into their new season and place of blessings. The walk with God must begin with the new perspective engrafted in the vine of thankfulness.

No matter what it is you go through or where it is that you are going through it, you must be thankful for what the Lord provides and where he places you as part of that provision.

There will be times that where God has placed you may not feel right, but if you are thankful, your journey and testing will be shorter and you will reach your purpose sooner. The children of Israel’s trip in the desert was 40 years when it should have only taken 11 days. It was delayed because of their consistent complaining and ungrateful heart.

The Israelites’ 40 years of wandering are a symbol of our own personal journey to believe. The book of Deuteronomy begins with a striking verse. In parentheses between verses 1 and 3, verse 2

“(There are eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadesh-barnea)” (Deuteronomy 1:2).

To some, Thanksgiving seems to be only a simple word filled with gracious and humble gratitude to a living God but in essence it’s more than that.

Here are a few things to consider:

  • Thanksgiving is an attitude of recognizing the blessings of the Lord.
  • When spoken, thanksgiving Is verbal stance that interrupts and cancels an ungrateful and bitter spirit.
  • It’s a shield against arrows of discontentment and a guard that watches against a greedy tongue.
  • To the enemy, your thanksgiving is a direct attack and a flaming sword against his very own kingdom.
  • Thanksgiving is an act spiritual warfare. Warfare against materialistic strongholds / mindset.
  • When we give thanks we are casting out the enemy from our environment and  inviting God into the scene.

Moreover, thanksgiving is an anecdote for sickness. It’s healing to the bones and it brings peace to a tired mind. It’s worship in the midst of troubles and praise to fend off dissatisfaction.

Finally, giving thanks positions us to receive from God. It draws us closer to our purpose and puts us in the direction of his divine plan.

I pray, as we enter into the time of Thanksgiving with our friends and families, take time to consider that if you want your purpose to be successful, it’s imperative that you include a thankful heart, as you traverse through the places of His leading. May you grow ever so closer to the Lord and live out loud with a heart of gratitude daily.

Blessings,
